If not are there accurate instructions to disable Hyper-V and use Workstation?
I tried per previous discussion but no luck.

WHen I launch any exe/any exeutable using powercli on guest VM using powercli command.
Invoke-VMScript, I am able to run them in the background but not in the foreground.
i.e., UI apps are not launching but showing the background as running in the task manager.
We need our UI Automation scripts to execute in the VM, but it is not working.
We are able to do in virtualbox and hyper-v but not in vmware esx using powercli.
Please suggest.

If Windows 7/10 VMs are being hosted by VMWare, is there any way to force all existing applications running on Windows to use VMCI sockets instead of the Windows' socket library? Want to speed up network communication between VM hosts.
Does anyone have experience applying a QoS Policy for the Skype for Business Optimization Pack? We can apply it to physical Windows devices using Group Policy but also need to apply it to our Windows Thin Client's that are not managed by GPO and do not have Skype installed locally.
I was able to apply the policy locally I confirmed the file vmware-remotemks.exe is the file being used during Skype calls but the file is not being tagged during the calls.
Hello!
We are testing out Instant Clones with Windows 10. We had trouble with App Volumes in this particular environment, so we abandoned that for this deployment. We have very few Windows 10 machines in our environment, so when the gold image tries to activate it cannot because there are < 25 machines. I tried turning up 30 Instant Clones but the CMIDs were all the same, so none of them activated. I tried doing slmgr / rearm on the gold image, shutting it down, taking a snapshot, and then starting 30 machines, but they all had the same CMID.
When should the CMID get changed when using Instant Clones?
Thanks for any help!

I have a floating instant clone Windows 10 1903 View pool that I want to deploy the Ubuntu appx to. I want it setup so users can have it ready to go when they login and not have to install it everytime. But with floating pools, when the vm gets destroyed so does the Ubuntu application. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and had it work successfully, and if so how did you do it?
This organization already has vRA 7.3, soon to be 7.5, and has been using it for over a year. I was in a conversation recently about the future direction of third-party cloud options and to a lesser degree automation. Someone commented that the org could simply replace vRA with Terraform. From my very limited knowledge of Terraform it kinda sorta sound like it might be able to do the same thing. That being said I have seen that there are ways to make vRA and Terraform play nice, these being two examples: (1) https://esxsi.com/2018/08/10/vra-terraform/ , and (2) GitHub - vmware/terraform-provider-vra7: Terraform provider for vRealize Automation 7 .
So my question is (without getting religious): what is the same and what is different between vRA and Terraform?
Hi everybody,
We have a Dell R740 with a NIC module part-number: 540-BBUK : Broadcom 57416 Dual Port 10GbE BASE-T & 5720 Dual Port 1GbE BASE-T, rNDC
We installed ESXi version 6.7.
And we connect all the 4 ports (2 10GbE and 2 1GbE) to the switch (1GbE port). So that the 10GbE port is set to be 1GbE.
But the 10Gbe BASE-T ports don't work correctly: We cannot ping the Mgnt IP Address if it's set on the 10Gbe BASE-T vmnic as well as the traffic cannot traverse via the vSwitch with the uplink Port is set to be the 10Gbe BASE-T ports. As soon as the vSwitch's uplink port or the Mgnt IP address of the ESXi server is set on the 1GbE vmnic, everything works fine. In addition, when we try to install Windows Server 2019 instead of ESXi 6.7, the traffic go through smoothly no matter it is the 10GbE or 1GbE port.
We've installed the newest customized ESXi version for Dell R740: VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.7.0.update02-13644319.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A01.iso (Release Date: 21 Jun 2019).
So what can i do in this case? Are there any specific driver that can solve this problem.
Many thanks for your help, bro
Mikel
Brs.
I am using vRO 7.5 in this environment.
For example.
If I write an action that executes something that takes 2 hours (example only, I hopfully wouldnt ever do this )
This action is run by a workflow, then say the workflow either fails or is cancelled, is there a way to list anything that may not have completed yet?
I want to make sure there is nothing taking up resources when it is no longer valid.
Thanks all!
Cheers
Finally upgraded to vCenter 6.7. However in working with the customization spec part of the Edit network "Use an application configured on the vCenter Server to generate an IP address" piece is greyed out. See capture. can anyone tell me why?
Hello folks,
I have two installations with vCenter installed on them that are both doing something that seems peculiar. They send DNS queries from the vCenter IP address to the assigned DNS servers. Roughly 15% of the time, they will generate a query the same second with the same source port to both the primary and secondary DNS servers. When this happens, the firewall logs that the vCenter server responds to the secondary DNS server's answer with an ICMP type 3 code 3 (port unreachable). This clearly shouldn't be happening (the query to the secondary DNS server probably shouldn't even be happening). Any ideas on why this would occur?

access-list vm_interface_access_in permitted udp vm-interface/10.1.1.5(33201) -> dc_interface/10.1.3.2(53)
No matching connection for ICMP error message: icmp src vm_interface:10.1.1.5 dst dc_interface:10.1.3.2 (type 3, code 3) on vm_interface. Original IP payload: udp src 10.1.3.2/53 dst 10.1.1.5/33201.
Thank you!
Hello folks, one of my hosts just locked up and the kernel panic screen isn't very informative so I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this as the iDRAC logs are clean... Can anyone make sense of this? This is running off a Dell M630.
Every powered on item (hosts, clusters and VMs) has either a red or orange warning. I saw on Reddit that this was due to the ImageBuilder service not running. I looked and it was not running. Even after starting the service, the warnings remain.
VCenter has failed and was replaced with a new instance of vcenter, but when I try to remove the old one from SRM 8.2 appliance, breaking site pair fails. Assumption is it can’t connect to the removed vCenter(PSC). Any suggestion how to clean it up?
Dear all,
I just wanted to share a pinboard for specific users
only so by following the link below, users on vRNI are created and given to the pinboard view access.
The user is successful to log into the pinboard with specific URL such "https://vrni5.0/#login/ru/pinboard/10000:10002:1898295984 " and see the pins on it.
However I realized the user can access and see other pinboard and query the other components except the pins...

Could someone advise me on whether it is expected behavior and just feature or not?

i have searched in the documentation for this case but not result

There is no incompatibility ?
Thanks
