Can't start host- need intel vt-x turned on

Hello,

 

I have already read about how to enable the intel VT-x in the Bios which I have done already. I can open Vsphere (5.5) client just fine. It only happens when I try to open the host. I have checked and double checked my bios. I'm thinking there may be something in the client that I need to turn on. My Bios is updated too.

 

I am using a hp compaq 6200 pro with an intel for my hardware. My vsphere esxi has its own server though.

 

Can someone tell me if there is something hidden that I am missing to get this error to go away?

VCSA 6.7 U3 Deploy From Template w/Customization - stuck at Select Networks

Since upgrading from U2 to U3 I'm unable to deploy from a library template if I use a customization spec, it won't go further than the Select Networks screen. 

 

  • Deploying from a datastore template works fine, even when using a customization spec.
  • Deploying from a library template works fine if I don't use a customization spec.
  • I've created a new customization spec (from scratch, not duplicating an existing spec) and the problem persists.
  • This is only an issue in the HTML5 client - everything works fine in the Flash client. 
  • Tested IE 11 and the latest version of Chrome with the same results.

 

Has anyone else seen this issue?

Question :

on this page: View the Health Status of Services and Nodes of the 6.7 documentation, it says to view the status badges under System Configuration.  There are no services listed anywhere in here.  There is only a link to log into the VCSA administrative page, but you cannot change services settings from there (only restart).  This documentation page seems to be blatantly incorrect.   Seems like this is only available in the "Web Client" (i.e. flash)

VM Horizon Client - App locks up when pasting into fields

Whenever I paste any information into one of the VM Horizon Client's dialog fields, the app hangs.  It'll hang for about a minute.  Sometimes I have to force it to close... other times I can wait it out... if I'm lucky that it doesn't time out that is and I have to start over.

 

I can bypass the issue by manually typing in convoluted generated passphrases, but this is horrible.  It wasn't always like this though.  It used to work fine.  I'd say the problem started about 3 releases ago.  I'm not sure what I can do to fix this.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Connecting Kali to Wifi, Host has two network cards?

Hello,

I have found many posts regarding connecting vmware guest OS Kali to wireless USB on the Host PC. However, I haven't found an answer to connecting Guest to Host Wifi.

Allow me to explain;

I have a Host PC Running Windows 10, the Host PC has two network cards installed, one is a LAN or Wired connection, the other is a wireless. I'm not using a USB Wireless.

Currently I have the Virtual Network for vmware connected to the wired network, the guest Operating system Kali is using a bridged connection from the hosts wired network.

 

I have the wireless network disabled on the host PC, such as I have seen in other postings. So my question is how to have the guest operating system see and use the wireless network from the Host, while maintaining the wired connection.

Solutions I have seen, assume that the host is using a USB wireless.

hello guys i'm having technical issue here i can't connect kali to the wifi network it's showing me it's Ethernet cable for some reason i don't know why is that and i tried to find a solution online but none of them work please guys if anyone have any idea about solution

Cannot rename VM in vSphere Client

Due to a quick refresh on vSphere Client, I am not able to rename my VM. When ever, I click on the VM, hit F2 and type the new name, the screen does a refresh and I am not able to rename the VM.

I can just type on the notepad and do a quick cut and paste but I would like to know, how can we stop/avoid/fix this behaviour of vSphere Client.

Hello,

 

I have upgraded our Esxi 6.5 to Esxi 6.7 U3. After upgrade cannot update Syslog.global path, every time I'm getting .The "Update option values" operation failed for the entity with the following error message.A general system error occurred: Internal error

 

Can someone help please.

Can no longer view our virtual machine list once we login as admin. Our VM list used to be listed on the right-hand side but now we can no longer view these...... How can we fix this quick???

Problems creating MacOS 10.14 Mojave Guest VM in VmWare Fusion 11.5 on MacOS 10.15 Catalina

I am running VmWare Fusion 11.5 on MacOS 10.15 Catalina.  I am attempting to create a guest VM with MacOS 10.14 Mojave. 

 

I downloaded the Mojave installer from the Apple Store and created an ISO. 

 

I create a new Guest VM selecting macOS 10.14.  It starts to load showing the Apple symbol and a progress bar (see image 1 below).  After some time I get a circle with a slash symbol (see image 2 below).  According to Apple Support the circle-slash is "prohibitory" and indicates the hardware will not run this version of the OS. 

 

Does anyone know this problem and/or have a workaround?

All passthrough greyed out "not capable" on AMD EPYC 2

Using ESXi u3 on supermicro H12SSW-NT board w/EPYC 2 CPU.  SVM is enabled in the BIOS.  I have Seagate NVMe drives installed which are detected.  Why can I not enable passthrough?

 

I'm using a free version serial.  Does that prevent passthrough?

VMWare Workstation version 14.1.8 quit working after new windows 10 update was installed.  windows 10 64bit with Intel core 7 processor.  Windows does not recognize software.  Says that it is not a windows program.

After upgrade to 15.5.1 build-15018445 can not start VMs

After upgrading to version 15.5.1 build-15018445 when I try to start a virtual machine I get this error in Event Viewer: Version mismatch with vmmon driver: expecting 385.0, got 308.0. from the vmauthd service.  The service is also unable to be started manually.  Please advise.

This KB says this VSAN error with HTML5 client has been resolved.  It has not.
